There’s fine Italian cuisine and outdoor seating at Mama Nina’s, Craft Micro Brews and American fare at Bethlehem Brew Works, and Celtic dining at McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub just to name a few. (See the full list)

Downtown Bethlehem also offers many various shopping experiences including the iconic Moravian Book Shop (the world’s oldest continually operated bookstore – founded in 1745). Within walking distance of the Hotel Bethlehem, you can browse antiques, buy an authentic Scottish Kilt, and even sample handmade chocolate and candies.

If you’re a nightlife person, downtown Bethlehem has various modern and traditional bars and clubs, including a Whiskey Bar at the Red Stag that hosts tasting events year round and a Cigar Shop that has free microbrew samples every Thursday evening.

For nature lovers, Bethlehem has over 40 parks and two beautiful public golf courses. Right below the Hotel Bethlehem is Johnston Park, home to several historic Moravian industrial buildings including a working Blacksmith shop. Within a short walk from the Hotel is Sand Island, which has several tennis courts and trails for running, walking, and biking.

There’s lots to discover so we hope you enjoy your stay!

Historic Bethlehem

The Hotel is located in the first National Registered Historic District in Pennsylvania. This district encompasses a Top 10 USA Today Main Street adjacent to the residential historic homes from the 18th and 19th century as well as Historic Moravian Bethlehem, a National Historic Landmark District.

All this iconic history is right outside our front doors and surrounds the hotel. We have self-guided tour information at our front desk and can arrange for tour guided walking tours of the Historic District as well as the Former Bethlehem Steel Plant with its SteelStacks campus.

Directions to the Hotel

Flights to Bethlehem

Lehigh Valley International Airport (IATAABE) serves the greater Lehigh Valley metropolitan area and is located about 10 to 15 minutes north of downtown Bethlehem by car. It is served by several legacy carriers, including Delta Connection Continental Express, United Express and US Airways. Each offers several daily flights to their Eastern U.S. hubs. Air Canada Jazz offers flights toToronto, and the airport usually has at least one low-cost airline with service to Orlando-Sanford. At present, there are two; Allegiant Air  and Direct Air  The airline(s) flying this route tends to change fairly often; when one budget startup goes out of business, the airport tends to replace it with another one within a few months.

Other airports in the general vicinity are Philadelphia International Airport (IATAPHL) and Newark International Airport (IATAEWR). As these are hubs for major airlines, and generally speaking much larger airports, flying into Philly or New York can save you a bundle. Expect a 90-minute drive from Philadelphia and about 2 hours from Newark, depending on traffic.
